Gerson Souto is Senior Vice President of Commercial Services for SES NEW SKIES, responsible for the management of SES NEW SKIES’ existing satellite capacity and service offerings; business and fleet planning; spectrum/program management; marketing communications and press relations. Mr. Souto also serves on SES NEW SKIES' six-member Management Committee.

Mr. Souto came to SES NEW SKIES in October 2007 from SES (formerly SES GLOBAL), where he served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Market Development. At SES, Mr. Souto was a key contributor to the geographical expansion of the company. He led a multi-disciplinary team during the acquisition of NEW SKIES and acted as co-leader for its integration into the SES group.

Gerson previously worked at satellite operator Intelsat, where he last held the position of Project Manager, Internet Services. Prior to that, he worked as an engineer at Embratel, a Brazilian telecommunications long distance carrier.

Mr. Souto holds an MBA from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., an MA in Telecommunication Systems from the Pontifical Catholic University in Brazil, and a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Federal Fluminense University in Brazil.
