New Skies Satellites announces
senior appointment in Asia Pacific


Singapore, October 12, 2001 -- New Skies Satellites N.V. (AEX, NYSE: NSK), the global satellite communications company, has appointed Matthew Oh as director of sales for the Asia Pacific region.

Based in New Skies’ Singapore office, Oh is responsible for managing New Skies’ sales activities in Asian Pacific countries, with a focus on the development of business opportunities in Indonesia, Thailand, The Philippines and Hong Kong.

Before coming to New Skies, Oh was director of sales for Loral Cyberstar in the Asia Pacific region where he was instrumental in the successful launch of Internet via satellite in Indonesia. Oh has vast experience in the telco industry, having worked with several large satellite and telecommunications companies in the region, such as Hutchison Corporate Access (now part of PCCW) and SingTel. As a graduate from the National University of Singapore, Oh holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with second class honours (upper division).
