Steve Collar is the Senior Vice President of Market Development for SES NEWS SKIES. In this role, Mr. Collar is responsible for overall leadership of SES NEW SKIES’ efforts to expand its satellite and service portfolio, including the design of new spacecraft and products. In addition, he oversees SES NEW SKIES’ long range strategic planning activities in close cooperation with other SES entities. Mr. Collar also serves on SES NEW SKIES' six-member Management Committee.

Mr. Collar joined SES NEW SKIES in 1999 and was instrumental in the design, configuration and procurement of all of the company’s new satellites. As Vice President of Asset Management and Development from 2003-2007, he was responsible for the commercial optimisation and management of the satellite fleet, including the pricing of capacity and allocation of transponders to markets. He was also involved in the development and management of New Skies' value-added video and IP products.

Prior to joining New Skies, Mr. Collar spent eight years at the satellite manufacturer Astrium, formerly Matra Marconi Space, working in a variety of roles including Payload Architect and Payload Manager on satellites such as Astra 2B, Intelsat 10 and the Eutelsat Hotbird series.
